INFLAMMATION OF THE TENDON
Tendonitis is a painful inflammation of a tendon; it is a tendinopathy. The pain can be felt in the Achilles tendon, under the heel, on the ankles or feet. Tendonitis is frequently caused by repeated, sustained or intensive effort. It can occur in athletes, workers who make repeated movements or in a person who has made an intense or inappropriate movement.

After a thorough and complete evaluation of the mechanisms of injury, a podiatrist on our team will discuss with you the treatment options appropriate to your condition and recovery goals.
Alone or in combination, treatments may include ice, analgesic laser treatment, muscle and/or joint manipulation, use of neuro-proprioceptive bandages, anti-inflammatory/analgesic medications, rehabilitation exercises or custom foot orthotics.

For Achilles tendon pain, wear an over-the-counter gel heel cup (put it on both feet).

Wear shoes with an arch support such as sneakers

Apply ice (10 minutes every hour) or a topical anti-inflammatory or analgesic cream
